Spaghetti bolognese

the most requested meal in the house..............
Spaghetti Bolognese..........
Ingredients
packet of spaghetti pasta
700 grams mince
410 gram tin crushed tomatoes
1 onion  chooped
2 cloves garlic crushed (or minced from a jar)
375 grams tomato paste
salt and pepper
Basil
 sprig of oregano
oil
sugar
1/4-1/2 cup red wine for the pot
1 cup red wine for yourself to enjoy while cooking......
Brown the onions and garlic in a tablespoon of oil
add in the mince and brown
add in the tin tomatoes and tomato paste
pour the red wine into the tin and jar to clean out the containers and add to the pot
add salt and pepper to taste
teaspoon of sugar
teaspoon dried basil or fresh about 10 leaves
sprig of oregano
enjoy your wine while your pot simmers away until it reduces and thickens a bit
cook your spaghetti
serve up the spaghetti and bolognese.........sprinkle some grated parmesan (or plain cheese if your darling son has eaten all the parmesan) on top and enjoy.........
Often i use about 1kg of mince and add an extra tin of tomatoes and a larger jar of tomato paste
I always have left overs and freeze it for another meal...........
I also use this same recipe for lasagne............

......SLOW COOKER.....
I have thrown everything into the slow cooker and left it to cook away while out working.
Enjoy...........

  1. Sounds yummy! I've got into the habit of cooking my pasta sauce in the slow cooker...double quantities and it tastes so much like my Patrozza's (Sicilian for godmother) sauce which simmered on the stove for hours...driving me mad with the beautiful smell wafting through the house! Lol
